BioRefining Alliance founded
The BioRefining Alliance, headed by director Anne Grete Holmsgaard, will provide its perspective on how we can get the most value out of biomass. The alliance was officially founded on December 16.
The BioRefining Alliance wants to optimise the use of the world’s limited biomass resources by using existing and new technologies to produce bio-based energy, as well as bio-based materials.
The public discussion and opinion regarding the use of biomass has moved away from the climate saving angle and is gaining momentum as a resource matter due the world’s exploding number of people.
- This is why it is of the utmost importance that the technologies do not fight amongst themselves, but rather collaborate across the board in order to develop the best methods to get the most out of the limited areas available for biomass production, Anne Grete Holmsgaard says to the Danish magazine ‘Ingeniøren’ (‘The Engineer’).
The BioRefining Alliance is a partnership between DONG Energy, Novozymes, Haldor Topsøe and the Danish Agriculture and Food Council, in collaboration with Bindslev.
